🇫🇯✈️🇺🇸 With the historic Artemis II mission now officially underway, our Environmental, Science, Technology, and Health team met with @Fiji_MFAET's Edwin Naidu before he departed for the United States!

Edwin is participating in the International Visitor Leadership Program's "Engaging the Rising Generation of Space Nations" project at a monumental time. As the first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years moves through space, Edwin will gain firsthand insights into U.S. leadership in global space markets and exploration. 🤝

We wish him all the best as he represents Fiji during this historic week for spaceflight!

📣🇰🇮 Kiribati's Ministry of Health and Medical Services issued a red alert for Rotavirus with one confirmed and four suspected deaths, and over 4,800 confirmed and suspected cases. Cases are concentrated in South Tarawa, particularly Betio.

If you experience fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, head to your nearest clinic or hospital and practice frequent handwashing. Keep surfaces clean when someone at home is ill, seek urgent care for young children with high fever or persistent diarrhea, and prioritize rehydration as the key treatment.

🇫🇯✈️🇺🇸 Safe travels and all the best to @RFMF_Defence's Second Lieutenant Akuila Vute who departs for the United States today for a six month U.S. Marine Corps Basic Officer Course in Quantico, Virginia. Last week U.S. Marine Reserve Attache Major Geoffrey Irving conducted a mentorship session with Lieutenant Vute to help him prepare for the grueling training ahead.

The Basic School trains young officers in the art and science of leadership and is considered one of the U.S. military’s toughest tactical leadership courses.

Lieutenant Vute is the first Fijian ever to attend The Basic School, exemplifying the deep and valuable military partnership between our countries. Join us in wishing Lieutenant Vute every success! #USwithFiji

🇫🇯 ✈️ 🇺🇸 Deputy Public Affairs Officer Ankhet Holmes met with Meli Vosawale, Fiji's Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, during his pre-departure orientation at the Embassy ahead of his travel to the United States.

Meli will participate in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) project on Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation. As Fiji's lead human trafficking prosecutor and a key member of the national TIP taskforce, his participation will help strengthen Fiji's fight against human trafficking. We wish him a successful and impactful program.
