Chargé d’Affaires John Degory was honored to host a Seder dinner for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for @MTCAFiji, the Honorable @ViliameGavoka, Acting Minister for Policing and Attorney General and Minister for Justice, the Honorable Siromi Turaga, and other government leaders and members of Fiji’s interfaith community to mark the beginning of Passover.
As the United States celebrates 250 years of independence in 2026, we acknowledge the role our rich faith tradition has played in molding our country – a value we share with Fiji. Passover is a chance to share in rich traditions, common stories, and the joy of gathering together as people of faith. Wishing a joyful Passover to all those celebrating. Chag Pesach Sameach!

🇫🇯✈️🇺🇸 Safe travels and all the best to @RFMF_Defence's Second Lieutenant Akuila Vute who departs for the United States today for a six month U.S. Marine Corps Basic Officer Course in Quantico, Virginia. Last week U.S. Marine Reserve Attache Major Geoffrey Irving conducted a mentorship session with Lieutenant Vute to help him prepare for the grueling training ahead.
The Basic School trains young officers in the art and science of leadership and is considered one of the U.S. military’s toughest tactical leadership courses.
Lieutenant Vute is the first Fijian ever to attend The Basic School, exemplifying the deep and valuable military partnership between our countries. Join us in wishing Lieutenant Vute every success! #USwithFiji
