Henry Nowak's death is more horrific than you think:
>Henry was stabbed ~11:30 pm, Henry was not pronounced dead until 67 minutes later (12:37 am). It gets worse...
> During this time. Dagwa & his brother (who arrived shortly after the attack, it was his brother who phoned 999, not to phone an ambulance, he phoned police alleging Henry attacked them.
>It's been reported that there was some deliberation/ delay before phoning 999. Alleging Henry drunkenly attacked them (Henry was sober; blood alcohol below the drink-drive limit). Digwa's brother wanted to punish Henry.
>Exact quotes from the call (read out in court at Southampton Crown Court):
“We’ve just got attacked racially by some white person. He’s physically attacked my brother, we’re Sikhs, we wear a turban and he’s just attacked my brother. We’re restraining him right now because he’s just attacked my brother and took my brother’s turban off. He also said, he’s verbally attacked my brother racially. I’m not having this as a regular occurrence, I live here, I’m not having this a regular occurrence. He ain’t fighting people, he’s racially attacking people, that’s what he’s doing. Nah, he sees some brown people, that’s what it was.”
> were restraining Henry until the police arrived (Digwa stole Henry's phone so he couldn't get help).
>When the police arrived, Digwa's father was holding Henry against a wall (his father said: "He keeps dropping down, so I am just trying to keep him up". There was also a visible blood trail, but it is unknown when officers first noticed it (different sources described it when the police entered the scene, another was after Henry passed out).
>His mother removed the murder weapon from the scene.
>Police bodycam footage was played in court (audio only, no video; another source said a transcript was read):
Henry says “I am dying”;
Digwa replies “You’re not dying bro.”
{Approximately 10 minutes later}: Henry says “You stabbed me”;
Digwa denies it and accuses Nowak of recording him.
Henry's final recorded words: “Please brother, I can’t breathe.”
{He passed out a few minutes later}
>Before the attack, Henry was recording a video of Digwa on his phone, it is a weird exchange: Henry singing/yawning, then addressing Digwa: “Innit bad man, what bad man. You’re a bad man, say you’re a bad man, go on.” Digwa replied: “I am a bad man.” The footage ended shortly before the stabbing.
Some critical details that haven't been released:
>The time the 999 call was made.
>The full 999 transcript.
>The time the police arrived.
>The time an ambulance was called (an air ambulance >flew in a doctor).
I question the order of the stabbing:
>There's a lack of defensive wounds on Henry's arms and hands (Henry was sober).
>I believe Henry was stabbed in the groin and the back if the legs while he was trying to scale a fence to get away (you can't easily get to a man's groin area, there's a reason they're nicknamed the 'crown jewels'). Also, stab wounds to that area can be catastrophic; The aorta and arteries to the legs (the largest in the body) flow through there, not to mention the nerve endings. The way they pinned Henry against a wall, where he would be losing blood faster.
>Given what I have read so far, I don't understand why there haven't been charges against the brother & father. They were aware that Henry had been stabbed, but they continued to forcefully detain him (the very definition of false imprisonment). I'd argue it was sadistic torture. You can make the excuse of a single Sekh having mental health issues (they will), but that doesn't excuse the actions of Digwa's brother, mother & father.

Chocolate brand Paul & Mike filed a complaint with FSSAI against The Whole Truth over its no added sugar claims on products sweetened with dates.
The Whole Truth argued that date-sweetened products are globally accepted under the “no added sugar” category. They also claimed that date powder has a lower glycemic index of 43 compared to sugar’s GI of 65.
Later, TWT agreed to change the labeling to “sweetened with dates” instead.
This is a good step. Marketing claims should be truthful, unambiguous, and non-misleading. “No added sugar” can easily make consumers assume a product is sugar-free or significantly healthier, even when it still contains high amounts of natural sugars. We need to standardise Zero Sugar claims to be “Total Sugar = 0gm”
Consumer transparency should always come first.

I grew up reading Mrinal Pande’s columns in Hindi newspapers, and I have long admired her writing and intellect. Which is precisely why this needs to be called out.
What she wrote about Aishwarya Rai is sexist, regressive, and deeply disappointing. It is body-shaming and in bad taste, plain and simple. At a time when we are trying to move beyond judging women by their appearance, comments about a woman’s weight, face, or “lost beauty” feel unnecessary and patriarchal.
Who cares whether Aishwarya weighs 40 kilos or 60? The most admirable thing is that she appears completely comfortable in her own skin. In an age where there is immense pressure on women to conform to unrealistic beauty standards, that confidence should be celebrated, not mocked.
And then there is the comparison with Rakhi Sawant. Calling either of them caricatures is neither insightful nor funny. If anything, Rakhi is one of the funniest people on the internet. She may say things that don’t always make sense, but she is an easy target who is often dismissed without being understood. Both Rakhi and Aishwarya are self-made women who have carved out their own space despite relentless scrutiny.
When respected public intellectuals make remarks like these, they end up sounding no different from online trolls. Such sad observations diminish the conversation rather than enrich it.
Aishwarya is aging, as all of us do. I am told she has also been dealing with health issues that are common among people in their late 40s and early 50s. Not everyone can, or should, be expected to look the way they did in their 20s or 30s. We need to accept and embrace that reality.
The saddest part is that these comments are coming from a woman many young journalists, both women and men, look up to.
@MrinalPande1 ji, this was insensitive and uninformed. It deserves an apology.
Gurindervir Singh after smashing the Indian 100m record with a time of 10.09 -: People discouraged me when I wanted to run the 100m. They said run the 400m. They said Indians can't run the 100m. But I wanted to prove a point. Indian genes tagde hain!
This is a segment from my recently concluded interview with India Today in Delhi, where I went with the thought of discussing my book in depth, but was ambushed by pseudoscience apologists and sympathizers all around.
I was pleasantly shocked to see my supposed "angry, rude" posts shown on National TV for a debate, while the other posts, where Ayush practitioners who dehumanized me using racial and religious slurs such as "ricebag" , "anti-Hindu" , "son of organ thief" , "priest-abused Christian Missionary" etc.. were conveniently ignored.
Even though confrontational, riddled with ad-hominem, and hugely fallacious to a good extent, I did feel that these kind of conversations will ultimately help some realize the value of critical thinking in health and medicine.

Easily one of the best we'll see.
Insane policies by @HDFC_Bank on their @payzapp product. Does not allow login if Developer Mode / USB debugging is turned on. Guess which one will I turn off? Time to move to a different app now.
@Singhlicious@ravihanda@dhirendra_vr There are other PMFs that have a hurdle rate, then the fixed+%age makes sense. It's more beneficial to the investor till ~15% growth, post that fixed fees are better. I agree PMS is not the best option IF you know where to invest. I'm happy to take recos on some MFs / index funds
Why is Saudi Arabia always making such retarded investments?
Get Sam Bankman Fried out of jail and appoint him as your head of tech fund.
Then hire some retired CCP guy and appoint him your infrastructure/education fund guy.
And instead of spending $150M on a movie with fucking Anthony Mack as your lead, why not just offer the money to Mr.Beast to make Beast Games Halal Edition?
