Tech companies over-hired during the pandemic -- because other tech companies were doing it. Then they happily laid off thousands of employees in late 2022 / early 2023 supposedly based on recession fears -- but really because other companies were doing it. Those fears failed to materialize, and now they're starting to rehire -- because other companies are doing it.
The funny part is that the recession is still coming.
