🚨BREAKING: @JRMajewski just dropped this video exposing Thai soldiers assaulting Cambodian civilians AFTER a ceasefire.
He calls out Thailand’s lies, their info war, and praises my friend Michael Alfaro for risking it all at the border.

There are still 18 Cambodian soldiers in Thai custody. That’s the part I keep coming back to.
I’ve lived in Cambodia for 15 years. I love this country — its people, its culture, its warmth. I’ve also seen how narratives get pushed, and I don’t always agree with how things are handled here.
But right now, I’m setting that aside. Behind the politics are people on both sides, living with the fallout of conflict.
If peace is what both sides truly want, and I want to believe that, then why not send them home?
Many Cambodian protesters, both here and online, seem to be conflating the legal question of where the border with Thailand lies (and the related disagreements about the 1907 Franco-Siamese treaty) with their sense of cultural ownership over Angkorian temples in general.
Thailand invasion of Cambodia shows how greedy Thailand is and how it seeks war and conflicts over peace and diplomacy. Thailand has lied again and again to the world and to its people about its invasion on Cambodia. Peace and justice for Cambodia!

BEHIND THE SCENES: I’m standing by to go live on @ChannelNewsAsia when this Cambodian (L) asked if he can take a video of me at work (I said yes)
And when the crickets in a bush beside me started singing, he helped shake the bush to quiet them

Let’s be clear: our troops were deceived and detained during a ceasefire, not war.
Thai forces violated trust—yet this journalist calls it “well-meaning” and disables comments to silence the truth.
That’s not journalism. That’s bias.

The Thai Army just handed out photos of detained Cambodian soldiers being looked after and provided meals. While well-meaning, it could violate against Art 13 of the Geneva Conventions which protects prisoners of war from "public curiosity".
There's a fine line what can and cannot be shown. Sure, there's also an argument that these are not POWs because the two countries are not at war. Still, important to be mindful of these before sharing.

@visegrad24 During a declared ceasefire, 20 of our Cambodian soldiers were deceived and captured by Thai forces. These cowardly lies violate every principle of peace and dignity.
🇰🇭 We demand their immediate release.
