@CGYFlame1 I can’t get behind Lawrence that high with his hockey sense concerns. The guy is talented but he plays with his head down. Feels like he tops out as a 3rd liner because he just doesn’t have the offensive vision
@HockeyShauny I think 3 seems too long because it nearly takes him to QO->UFA pipeline. If they’re thinking bridge 2 yrs seems more reasonable. That way if he’s legit he’s 1 yr closer to getting his bag, and we get a bit more certainty/warning if he won’t re-sign
@SlapshotShibe I feel like Conny has earned benefit of the doubt on draft day. It would be nice if the also addressed an organizational need, but we need two PP QBs, maybe one of them moves to the left side, maybe one of them busts/gets critically injured, maybe they both hit and we deal one
@Pete___Hughes Yeah, you’d hope. Stocksalius looks nice, but once again, is it because 2nd rounders have lower visibility to ownership. Do you think the regional scouts they have now would push hard enough for a guy like Björk?
@RingOfFireCGY@FlamesNation No guarantee that one of the top 3 forwards is there anyways. Even if they were, we’d be giving up a 1st, a mid 2nd, and Whitecloud who is valued at around a 1st round pick only to move up two spots. Id do it for 6+30/31 or 6+Whitecloud, but not both
@BigFlamesGuy Annoying that this is being framed as a “Vegas overpay” and not a “Conroy fleece”. Nobody (outside of CGY) would have called it an overpay at the time of trade, so credit should be given to Conny for capitalizing on value
@wincolumnCGY Feel like they will. Not bad in isolation, but contributes to the logjam in the bottom 9. Wouldn’t mind it if a couple other guys move out
@AdamWylde I think labelling it as a complete rebuild is a bit of a stretch, with Caufield, Suzuki, and Guhle all being part of the organization at the time of the SCF trip. Extremely effective management, but not a complete turnover of the organization
