@gotmefeelinlzy@eisenhuttenstad If they were malnourished and poorly trained then it was fucking stupid to send them against a global power then wasn’t it.
@gotmefeelinlzy *centuries ago. And I’ve provided actual evidence that the first settlers were English, and that England controlled them after Spain, but can you provide any evidence to the contrary?
@gotmefeelinlzy Well first of all that’s not what I said, but it’s what happened. Second of all, you had no legal control over it at the time considering you were not a country yet. Third of all, there were not people living there. Centuries earlier indigenous had visited but not settled
@gotmefeelinlzy Colonisation is when a larger power invades a smaller power and takes their resources, in a very short summary. England colonised many places, like the Spanish did with SA. The Falklands were not colonised, there was no population native and incumbent.
@56porciento@dy_gbl Happens to every country eventually, those with power get lazy. It’s a shame because there’s billions of people just trying to get by and they’re subject to the whims of the rich elite who are just bored. Oh well, good luck with fixing Argentina amigo
@gotmefeelinlzy Didn’t realise they had a say tbh, if they’re yours do you control the resources, people etc? And they’ll also never support you military getting them, only diplomatically which isn’t happening
@56porciento@dy_gbl What happened was decades of neglect and misappropriation of funds that led to a stagnant economy, high unemployment and high cost of living. You’ll probs hear mostly about the immigrants, which yeah illegals are a problem but to say they’re the sole cause of Uk decline is wrong
@enblinkville@antonerable Sure fair enough, if by that metric fine but then the local Britons also got justice after being oppressed by the Romans so? History always has winners and losers, Britain happens to have created both and been both
