Q. You recently finished your Las Vegas concerts. We heard you came straight back for today’s shoot.

🐿️ By Korean time, it’s already around 7 PM. Every country and every city has a different time zone and rhythm. In the US, it’s still very early in the morning. Strangely enough, I think the US time difference suits me well. I like being in Korea too, but whenever I go to the US, I naturally maintain a healthier daily routine. The rhythm of waking up in the morning and going to bed at a reasonable time really suits me.

Mind you the Recording Academy has been accused with some serious allegations by the former CEO (replaced by Harvey Mason Jr.)

Deborah Dugan became the Recording Academy's first female President and CEO in August 2019. Just five months later, days before the 2020 Grammys, she was placed on administrative leave following alleged workplace misconduct complaints, and Harvey Mason Jr. was appointed interim CEO.

Dugan filed an EEOC complaint alleging sexual harassment, gender discrimination, conflicts of interest, financial mismanagement, and irregularities in the Grammy nomination process.

At some point, the music industry needs to ask itself why artists continue to chase validation from institutions instead of the people who actually sustain careers. When questions about transparency and governance have been raised around an institution over the years, it's a reminder that industry accolades should never outweigh the trust and connection artists build with their audiences.
