I think educators who make it long-term are not only dedicated to their profession, but understand work should not come at the expense of their personal lives and well-being. Balance is key, and they learn to prioritize self-care and family while still giving their best at school

We have become so focused on preparing students for adulthood, that we forget to help them succeed in childhood first, so they can succeed as adults.

If a 2nd grade word problem on a standardized test is written at a 3rd or 4th grade reading level, then you aren’t testing for math, you’re testing for above grade level reading. And doesn't reflect student knowledge of actual 2nd grade math curriculum.

Improve Tier 1 Mental Health Support!

Student-to-counselor ratios right now are 400:1 or worse. This has been normalized & is unacceptable. The resources are there & I’m calling on states to invest in reducing these ratios because counselors & students deserve better.
