Recruiting itself is a full time job in the context of reaching out to schools, sending film, taking questionnaires, etc.
Not everybody has it in them to do whatever it takes to get recruited. Not everybody is willing to sacrifice some social time with the friends to stay in to make sure those few extra coaches were contacted. Not everybody is willing to do the little things like proofread their messages and check to ensure they are addressing the right coach. Not everybody is willing to go through the process ALL IN 100% committed. Not everybody is willing to do all of that.
If you want to play college football, you have to sacrifice a lot to get there. The kids that play college football, no matter the level, they are all incredibly dedicated to the craft and are masters at what they do. Playing college football is an insane accomplishment, however not everybody can do it or are cut out for it.

#Pitt lands 2027 defensive lineman Carter Napier out of Springboro (OH). He is the definition of a blue-collar trench warrior. Violent hands, strong at the point of attack, and consistently wins with leverage and effort. Plays with a relentless motor, clogs running lanes, and brings a physical edge snap after snap. A disruptive presence whose best football is still ahead of him.
