Why we use rewards and punishments.
Balanced training is a concept and training style based upon Operant Conditioning. Simply put, reinforcement with rewards increases behaviors, and punishment with corrective tools decreases behavior.
In the pack who is allowed to breed together is carefully controlled. Through play the social fabric of the unit is constructed. Who eats first and who eats last is established. Our dogs are not much different from their ancestors, and the truth is, neither are we.
