It is standardized in the movie industry that the licenses don't last forever, they're almost always rentals or streams. The Sony TOS will be completely different for them.

@NYGamer @Saberdere I'm not surprised. Even Nintendo has this, the 3DS shut down online in 2024 but they left dedicated servers for redownloading titles you previously purchased. Can't buy new ones, can't browse titles, but you can access a list of your purchases and redownload as you please.

@ShankMods PC files are easily transferred and companies like Steam make it so you never "lose" them, and your 20 year old PC games aren't locked to your 20 year old PC. I can't play my gamecube physical titles anymore, I can play my early-mid 2000s Steam/CD games at any time.

@smethful @Pwop_Streams Both, he's also getting older and worse over time. He started his 3rd Dark Souls 2 playthrough this week and made 15 minutes of progress in 3 hours. He has over 1000 hours in soulslikes by now, but struggles with things like figuring out how to 2 hand a weapon more than ever.
