Nigeria is really big. Like really big beyond your imagination.
Things are happening in various ways, but they are all unstructured. The biggest barrier is putting a structure to those things before we maximise their benefits.
Infrastructure is one of the reasons why many of those things are not structured (and by infrastructure, I also mean education/literacy/information).
Everyday I get the privilege to be in discussions with top lads who allocate capital to ventures and I am always amazed by the things that happen in different places… Still in this same Nigeria.

I think you only really understand the impact of growing up without a father when you become an adult yourself. As a child, you adapt and think you’re fine because that’s the life you know. I did the same just when I got back from Qatar, unplanned. At first, I was submitting CVs at banks trying to match my previous salary until I got the call to join this startup. It was the easiest decision to take.
One thing startup teaches you that you don't find elsewhere is how to operate without a map.
You develop judgment over time. You learn what matters and what doesn't, what to build and what to ignore, when to move fast and when to slow down.
At a big company, the operating system already exists. There are processes, teams, budgets, and someone whose job is to own each piece. At a startup, you build the operating systems while the company itself is running on it. In most cases, wearing many hats to keep things moving.
The best part is that startup experience compounds long after you leave. You take that energy into bigger companies, and it changes how you work. You move reasonably fast, need less handholding and are much more comfortable figuring things out when there is no clear playbook.
