@stoolpresidente it’s like Jay Williams single handedly leading a Duke comeback against Maryland in 2000. down by 20(ish) w 2 mins left to play. Duke won.
you sound angry. i’m not trying to win an argument my man. i LOVE football. bills mafia! what i will say is that somewhere in the world, roger goodell is wondering how to grow the NFL internationally and transcend soccer. the reverse is not true. speaking in probabilities, this is likelier true than not. happy to be wrong.
the only marching bands in soccer are the marchers that take over entire cities. when argentina won the WC 4 years ago, the freeways in buenos aires were shut down for like 3 or 4 days bc the fans took them over in celebration. this is what people don’t get. i say this as a fan of football, basketball, and…soccer. obviously.
@jaymesrosenthal don’t worry we only need one rebel footballer to take his shirt off in celebration of the next world cup goal with ‘buy bitcoin!’ painted on his chest to pump our bags. the fifa cartel might take him out but whatev he will live in glory forever
not sure how else to say (as i said above) I LOVE AMERICAN FOOTBALL. i live in the south for crying out loud. i also played a lot of soccer growing up, including in italy. dad is american, mom is mexican. i know both worlds intimately. not sure what the attempts to beef are about. anyway.
also a great stadium. i just don’t think the average american understands that soccer is a religion for ENTIRE COUNTRIES. especially during a world cup. love me some college football. azteca (and the setup of the stadium which magnifies sound to the field) is hard to comprehend.
the origins of marriage have nothing to do with love or romance. they have to do with power preservation in autocratic societies. eventually de beers convinced everyone that diamonds are forever and the romance narrative proliferated. finding the right partner is paramount, but marriage is a sepeataye conversation. it is not a natural human construct. one does validation from a government to confirm the validity of a relationship. hence it’s ironic that at a time that many are skeptical of big government, they still turn to that government to approve a relationship the government knows nothing about. it is the one decision where even the ardent rebels of society unknowingly seek societal approval. the right partnership is key, not marriage itself.
