And after you listen to Magnificat, & the equally spectacular Ode for St. Cecilia's Day by Handel, clear some time on your calendar on Saturday or Sunday to hear @bostonearly Chamber Opera's "The Dragon of Wantley!" All the info: https://t.co/H6e2awiNQw
One of the first pieces I played in college was Bach's Magnificat, a totally formative experience. Still, when @VLuminis & @bostonearly Music Festival Orch/ did it last June I heard things in it I had never heard before. Now you can hear it, too. https://t.co/RDLogOAkL1

One week ago today at @bostonearly! A wonderful weekend performing some of our favourite music written by and for women. Thanks to all who took such good care of us - we even snuck in a boat trip the next day, and made some fabulous new 🐕 friends in the #BostonPride parade!
That was a lot of fun. Musically excellent, lively colorful production. The sets were very simple but the costumes lavish, contemporary to the period of composition. Many thanks @bostonearly for an afternoon of great music!
So if the Met won’t give us any more opera, we’ll have to travel for it. I’ve come up to Boston for the @bostonearly production of Circé, by the French composer Henry Desmarest. Both opera and composer are new to me. Tx3 to all!
Tonight, a special treat at the @BostonEarly Music Festival: Francesca Caccini’s 1625 “Alcina,” the first #opera written by a woman composer. It centers on a sorceress who seduces men and later turns them into plants! Shhhh…! Lights going down…!
