Nine-year NBA veteran Malik Beasley has been indicted on federal charges for gambling related to a sports betting scheme, such as point shaving and prop bets, his attorney Steve Haney tells ESPN. The government is coordinating a voluntary surrender of Beasley this week.
The gap between #1 (JB) and #30 (LeBron) is massive, and it's even clear for people who have watched the games. As a C's fan and Bron fan, it's funny cause Boston and LA are by far the two teams I've watched most and the two FOs have just had completely distinct team building philosophies and have obviously seen gaps in their success (Boston being consistent, LA being anything but)
Jaylen and Jayson (+4.22) being near the top makes total sense. For the vast majority of the last decade, the Celtics FO has surrounded them with elite (and analytically adored) "plug and play" talent like Al, D-White, Jrue, Smart, Porzingis, etc. Their teammates possess incredibly high DARKO metrics on their own
LeBron's +0.22 means that, on average over the last 10 years (spanning late stage Cleveland, the rebuilding/injury-riddled early Lakers years and everything in between), the other 4 guys on the court with him have collectively skewed right around league avg or replacement level. When he sits, those lineups historically crater because they weren't built with robust depth or high impact metric players
It completely validates what the eye test has shown during several stretches of LeBron's last decade which is he has consistently had to lift heavier structural loads just to keep his teams afloat compared to stars who do a great job "raising the ceiling" in elite developmental systems
