To be clear: they’re not protesting against the sexual torture of Palestinians by Israeli authorities. They’re protesting against the NYT for reporting it.
@NYCMayor im glad all the replies didn’t disappoint. You, however, become a bigger and bigger disappointment everyday. guess you didnt watch Susan Abulhawa’s video telling you they’d siphon your soul with every concession you make based on colonizer logic, huh?
Venezuela's Nobel prize winner Maria Corina Machado:
"As soon as we conquer freedom, I will move our Israeli Embassy to Jerusalem."
It’s difficult to find a U.S. war that doesn’t, in some way, benefit Israel
Reminder that over two years ago @IChotiner and @NewYorker ran a piece with this headline without presenting any evidence of systematic sexual violence. Moreover the interviewee has since walked back much of what she claimed here. The piece is still up with the same headline
@BarbaraLee_CA he just gave the middle finger to Oakland for stating facts about Flock at a city council meeting. he wants to act like Trump and say he has nothing to apologize for..
Israel is so desperate to turn the world back to post-9/11 era when Muslims were the enemy and Israel was the victim. Israel is the enemy of all humanity and no amount of false flags will change that. Your old tactics don’t work anymore
Many Zionists wear the kuffiyeh in order to indegenize themselves. It was often worn by members of the Palmach, the terrorist Zionist militia that led the ethnic cleansing of the North of Historic Palestine. The kuffiyeh is also part of the uniform of Israeli park rangers. 1/2
This is Helen Thomas (1920–2013). She covered ten U.S. presidents, from Kennedy to Obama, and was the first woman to break into several senior White House reporting roles — including the first female officer of the White House Correspondents’ Association.
Her career came to an abrupt end in May 2010, after a rabbi with a video camera asked her about Israel outside the White House. Thomas said Israelis should “get the hell out of Palestine” and “go home” to places like Poland, Germany and the U.S. The clip spread instantly and the backlash was swift as well:
▪️ The White House Correspondents’ Association condemned her
▪️ Her speaking agency dropped her
▪️ Hearst forced her into retirement within days
▪️ Major outlets that once relied on her reporting black-balled her
She’d spent half a century grilling presidents, but her criticism of Israel ended her career.
She kept writing and giving interviews afterward, arguing no journalist should be punished for opposing Israel’s cruel policies toward Palestinians. But she never returned to the White House briefing room — the place she dominated for decades.
What's shocking isn't that Zohran Mamdani is backtracking on his promises but that people really thought electoral politics can deliver another outcome other than disappointment.
