BREAKING: Princeton Professor Eddie Glaude unleashes a devastating takedown of "rabid" and "racist" Stephen Miller — and it's one for the ages.
This is an absolute must-read...
"Stephen Miller is a racist. He's a white nationalist. White nationalists have seized the federal government. Great Replacement Theory motivates this immigration policy," Glaude said on "Democracy Now."
"It is in fact part of the justificatory language of the so-called legal decision or opinion that Justice Alito laid out. We need to call them for what they are," he continued.
The professor is, of course, absolutely right. The Republican effort to overturn birthright citizenship under Trump thankfully hit a brick wall with the Supreme Court's ruling this week, but we should be deeply alarmed that three justices, including Thomas, sided with the White House's efforts to violate the Constitution.
And there's nothing subtle about this agenda. Trump and Miller desperately want to end birthright citizenship because they're worried that white people are a shrinking majority in this country. In Trump's case, he cares about the issue because his racist base cares. In Miller's case, he has an ideological commitment to race-based fascism.
"And in so many ways, this is an echo of the 1920s. Oftentimes, the United States, in order to secure its virtue, will say the 'Monsters over in Germany, not understanding that the German monster was looking to the U.S. in the 1920s," Glaude explained.
"Explain," said the host.
"So what I mean is that here is the moment. The Klan is reborn in 1915," said Glaude. "Its basic motivation is rooted in the kind of nativism, a kind of true 100% Americanism, right? They want Nordic immigration, not those folk from the swarthy asshole countries of Europe. The Italians. The suspicious Irish papists and the like."
Again, Glaude is spot on. The Trump administration has blatantly sought to reduce immigration from Muslim and nonwhite countries. The President himself previously stated that he wants more immigrants from "nice" countries like Denmark and Switzerland. They also specifically prioritized white immigrants from South Africa.
"They are really in so many ways, right, thinking of the country as a white republic," he went on. "The seminal piece of legislation of the Klan, the one that they claimed they were most proud of, was the Johnson Reed Immigration Act and Nationality Act of 1924, which laid clear the quotas keeping the country white, right? So much so, 1926, the 150th anniversary of the nation, the Klan was approved to have its annual convocation, its annual convention, on the grounds of the Philadelphia Exposition. They're going to celebrate the American flag and its 150th anniversary and burn a cross at the same time!"
"These people are the inheritors of that legacy," Glaude said of the MAGA movement. "They believe the country should be white. And what we see with TPS, what we see with the immigration policies is an all out assault, a twin assault, Amy, on two fundamental pieces of legislation that changed the trajectory of the country."
"One, of course, was the Voting Rights Act of 1965. It's been gutted. The other, of course, is the Hart-Celler Act, Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which overturned the quotas of the 1924 Immigration Act," he added. "This is a white nationalist agenda. And Stephen Miller and all of these folk are just simply rabid, racist, and we need to call them for who they are."
We couldn't agree more. Conservatives are constantly shrieking that it's unfair to call them racist, but everything they do and say reveals the truth.
They are racist. And we aren't afraid to say it.
Please ❤️ and share if you oppose Stephen Miller's racist agenda!
BREAKING: WE LOVE IT! Members of the European Parliament travel to Albania to investigate Jared Kushner's corrupt resort deal — and deliver a stunning warning about the "Trump clan."
This deal is really circling the drain now...
“If [Prime Minister Edi] Rama is really serious about his EU ambitions, he should step back from this trajectory and say to the Trump clan, ‘sorry, the EU is my first priority’,” said Dutch MEP Tineke Strik, head of a fact-finding delegation sent to Albania for four days.
“Right now, they’re endangering a process that is so dear to them … They’re playing with fire," Strik added.
The EU has warned Albania that Kushner's plans for a $1.4 billion development on the island of Sazan and a $4.7 billion project along the protected Zvërnec coastline could endanger the nation's entry into the Union because the plans run afoul of environmental regulations. Protected wildlife, including flamingos, inhabit the earmarked coastline.
This entire saga boils down to environmental protection for the public good against crooked private profits.
The people of Albania stand in staunch opposition to Kushner's plutocratic designs and have repeatedly taken to the streets en masse in recent months to protest. The widespread upheaval has been nicknamed "The Flamingo Revolution."
As it turns out, Albania isn't too enthused about the idea of Kushner and his wife Ivanka building a proverbial playground for the pedophiles, war criminals, and money launderers of the Epstein Class.
Meanwhile, 92% of Albanian citizens support joining the EU. Rama has defended Kushner's deal in the past, but now he's being forced to choose between the incredibly popular EU integration and the incredibly unpopular resort.
“If they go ahead, they’ll have a big problem with the EU during the negotiations – especially on Chapter 27 where they have to meet all the benchmarks of EU environmental policies," said Strik. "The planned construction of such large-scale real estate in such a fragile area is an immense threat.”
She added that the work that has already been completed in Zvërnec has inflicted massive environmental damage, with forests being destroyed and gravel road being paved over previously pristine ground.
Strik's delegation was "encouraged and reassured by the Albanian people" because working people are taking to the streets to defend the values that the EU holds dear. At the same time, Strik is concerned by the government's continued stonewalling on the issue and allegations of corruption.
“I left today’s meeting with the impression that they intend to continue with this project before they have to be aligned with EU law and this, of course, is not a way of loyal cooperation,” she said. “They cannot say now ‘we can do more damage and then we’ll see at the end of next year where we stand’. That’s not a way to go and we will call upon the EU commission to follow this up very strongly with the Albanian government.”
“Albanians are protesting every day because they want to have a proper democracy, which really strengthens my trust in the process and in their desire for accession," said Strik. "What I am not so sure about is whether the government of Albania is taking at all seriously the concerns of the Albanian people, of us [MEPs] and the European Commission – which is why I have called on it to change course and take its citizens seriously.”
These Albanian politicians now have a choice. They can either side with their people and stand up to Kushner, or they can flush their futures away on behalf of the world's worst family.
Please ❤️ and share if you stand with the proud Albanian people!
BREAKING: Two masked protesters have climbed to the very top of the Empire State Building in NYC to raise a banner that reads:
"When the power of love beats the love of power. The world knows peace."
I'm sure Trump will call them "Antifa" and try to send them to prison for life.
The nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday and the president is soaking up the spotlight. CNN's Jeff Zeleny reports how some in the White House are worried about attendance for his July 4th rally.
Chief Justice John Roberts' legacy is a far-right Supreme Court that prioritizes expanding corporate power above all else.
I warned of his right-wing nature when I testified against his nomination in 2005.
Republican Rep. Tom Kean Jr. took four months off from Congress, fully paid, to treat depression. Time and again, he’s voted against paid sick leave legislation.
What a goddamn hypocrite. 😡
