Today we remembered those we have lost in the line of duty, those that gave the ultimate sacrifice whilst protecting their communities. The crew held a minutes silence for national Firefighters Memorial Day to remember those we have lost. #wewillalwaysremember#firefamily

21:34 @bourne_fire attended High Street, Thurlby to a chimney fire. Crews used water backpack and hand tools to extinguish. Fire caused by a build up of soot within chimney.
Ensure you have chimneys with wood burning stoves/open fire swept yearly to prevent a build up of soot
12:09 @granthamfire & @bourne_fire attended Tanners Lane, Corby Glen to a vehicle stuck in flood water. Crews used a rescue sled and wading poles to rescue 1 female from a car.
2/2 - Working smoke alarms alerted the occupiers to the fire and enabled them to leave the property safely. Whilst leaving, they closed the kitchen door which helped prevent a much worse fire.
