@DoctorDisaster1 The implications of this are further reaching than I think many realize. If the PS6 and NextBox are also completely digital, then even third party will abandon physical entirely
You just handed next gen to the PC market. Between the nothing burger games you’ve released this entire generation and the fact that gamers’ physical libraries will be useless on the new assumedly all digital PS6, what’s the point of playing on PlayStation anymore? The PS5 will be the last generation of PlayStation and as a lifelong PlayStation gamer, it’s the end of an era for me as I’ll likely be moving entirely to PC after 2027

@PlayStalgiaX I can’t stand them. The bright red is such an eye sore compared to the classic label and anytime I’m looking for an older game I will actively avoid the greatest hits version if possible
PlayStation will continue to invest in live-service games because Sony believes they can help grow the gaming market and keep players connected for years.
Hideaki Nishino, President of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said the company still sees potential in live-service games and wants to keep working in this area.
“we want to continue to challenge ourselves in this area,” showing that Sony is not giving up on its plans for online games.
The company wants to create games that have strong communities, regular updates, and reasons for players to keep coming back.
@ClownWorld 2000-2010. The internet was still newish, sites like YouTube and other social media was in its infancy and movies/TV were some of the best they’d ever been
This is fucking stupid. So I can’t even play co-op with my son because I need to pay for him to have a completely separate account for one game. Wtf are we even doing at this point.
Halo: Campaign Evolved split screen on PS5: "both accounts will need to have PlayStation Plus and be linked to a Microsoft account. Having these active PlayStation Plus subscriptions will also provide access to online co-op play." https://t.co/sQTErUCn9I
