The first rule about pathology club is we don't talk about purple. #PathTwitter You thought you knew your colours before you joined. But you didn't. You must never say purple again. It doesn't exist. It's blue, OK.
A short Saturday morning browse of Twitter, after a long break, was more than enough to make me leave again. Until I came across the threads on NHS, piglets, and use of the Oxford comma. Now I may stay for a bit longer. Good stuff.
@tinaksharma I have strongly believed for a good while now that comments other medics make, and even non-medics actually too, when you declare your interests in a particular specialty, say a huge amount more about them than they do about you. (DOI: Pathologist, "it's just dead people, right")
@Alexandra_nidd That is a good description. I found myself slide towards that in my mind recently and had to remind myself it's not okay. We were there once. Patience is virtue.
@DoverMarian It took me 4 attempts to pass mine. These exams are not always (possibly often) a reflection of our ability to do the job. They are a different skill. You can do it. I had 18m of life coaching and became v good at failing. It hurts for a bit tho. Be kind to yourself.
@NatNat3382 No catch. Best job ever. It's hard work tho. Think of it as learning another language. Nobody, especially yourself, should expect fluency in a short space of time. Enjoy the ride. It's beautiful. I'm about to cct.
@BellaRoscetti ยฃ9 is not even living wage. Email head of HR, chair of the board for the trust and the medical director. For starters. And your training programme director. Not good enough.
@ArunSanjuktha@JMGardnerMD@Vik_deshpandeMD Some people in pathology training are like this. If you can seek safety in numbers and challenge that attitude right back at them. Pathology is learning a new language. You cannot be fluent in an entirely new language until you've used that language for many years. Tell them.
Around 7:15pm today at the The Rim in San Antonio, TX my car was broken into by this guy and he took the bag containing all 3 of my Paralympic gold medals ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ฅบ Asking for help getting them back n getting the word out in any way possible ๐๐ฝ
@DrJenGunter A total quack, should be illegal and should not be practicing. I have family who follow this sort of "medical advice" in the US and it's horrifying.
I have never ever felt so ashamed of the UK government and I will have to stop reading threads on twitter now for a bit. Too heartbreaking and makes me too angry. Grrr.
