@a__cobb Your committee has already read your thesis, so focus on your arguments, interventions, and questions for future research and less on summarizing your narratives. Also, don’t stress too much about it. If you weren’t going to pass, they wouldn’t let you defend.
@chelsalsaa My cat does the same. The back room is her “outside” when she wants sun. We’ll even open the door for her when she’s meowing at a bird in the yard and she’ll look up at us like “close the door, I wasn’t serious.”
@a__cobb I’m in the same situation and my STEM friend recommended I buy an Air with extra memory to save money. Then it should handle everything a historian would need to do, like run Trophy or manage large Excel spreadsheets.
@a__cobb I recommend the $20-30 mattress pads at Walmart. They’re affordable, comfortable, and in my four years in on-campus housing in undergrad it definitely helped make for a more comfortable night’s sleep.
So I applied to a design internship with Converse two years ago and included artwork for shoes, never heard back, 2 years later and they released shoes exactly like those I pitched

I’m not sure if it’s the Mandela effect or what, but I distinctly remember an era when 24-hour Starbucks existed outside of college campuses. Am I the only one?
Allie’s Mancala confidence has reached the point where she uses beating me to cheer herself up. I asked how I could make her feel better and her response was “will you play me in Mancala? 🥺”
After attending FSU for 4 years, I can honestly say a toll roll from Citrus to Jefferson Co. is unnecessary. US-19, though it slows down at times while entering towns, is a quick route and greatly contributes to the revenue of the Nature Coast and lower Big Bend.
The toll roads to nowhere will destroy much of undeveloped Florida, threaten the endangered panther and increase rising sea levels. They are an environmental disaster.
Boondoggle project that is bad for Florida.

@MichaelGryboski I haven’t, but that sounds similar to what Karen Cox did in “Dixie’s Daughters” and Caroline Janney with “Burying the Dead But Not the Past.”
@MichaelGryboski Same here, Gilmore was assigned reading for my course on how to write good history. Everyone agreed her ability to handle the diverse array of subjects in gender, race, and the post-Reconstruction South all while telling her narrative like a story was magnificent.
