@born2bfreealive @BelfastLive Id assume any kid with a statement of need would still be entitled schooling. Schools wont be closed during this period just restricted. Thats why Peters blanket statements put so many up in arms.

@hughdempsey1977 @BelfastLive U may be surprised. Ive had notification of a fair few who will do this as they cant risk isolating over xmas away from family. I don't agree but understand. As i said before personal choice.

@hughdempsey1977 @BelfastLive And thats their perogative. Its up to them as parents how they feel during this pandemic. But a lot of education staff are running on empty atm(trust me personal experience)and deserve their holiday. If kids are let home on the 11th it doesn't mean education staff are off as well

But the lack of clarity from Weir has caused so much uncertainty around schooling its making parents and school staff feel like this. I have heard of people who will 'vote with their feet' in implementing this early holiday
