Quantum-resistant blockchain narratives are solving a problem that's still 10-15+ years away, and most projects riding this wave will have quietly pivoted their marketing before the actual threat ever materializes.

Here's the reasoning: current quantum computers are nowhere near breaking ECDSA/secp256k1 most credible estimates put a cryptographically relevant quantum computer (one that can actually break real world elliptic curve crypto) at 2035-2040+, and that's assuming steady progress with no plateau.

Meanwhile "quantum resistant" has become one of the easiest narratives to sell because it sounds urgent and technical, but almost nobody buying into these tokens can actually evaluate the lattice based cryptography claims being made. It's a threat of the future being sold as a today problem.

The actual quantum resistance work that matters is happening at the standards level (NIST's post quantum cryptography standards) and will likely get absorbed into existing chains via upgrades, not by new L1s built from scratch around this one feature.
