Police have launched investigations into the death of a Nairobi-based quantity surveyor after he was found dead a day after reportedly spending the night at a city entertainment venue.

The deceased, identified as Edgar Otochi Mokua, is said to have visited Ibiza Club, where CCTV footage allegedly shows him in the company of a woman identified as Mitchell.

According to preliminary reports, investigators are reviewing footage that allegedly shows the woman tampering with the victim's drink. Authorities are yet to confirm the substance involved, with investigations still ongoing.

Family members reported Edgar missing after he failed to return home and could not be reached. They circulated missing person posters on social media before he was later found dead.

Police say a postmortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death, while detectives continue to analyze CCTV footage and gather evidence.

Authorities have urged members of the public to remain vigilant while socializing and avoid leaving drinks unattended as investigations into the incident continue.
