As mentioned before, the EHF’s incredibly poorly thought-out rule changes could have major consequences.

Kiel, unsurprisingly, lost to Berlin.

Now it is Melsungen’s turn…. After winning the EHF European League, they must hope that Berlin either finish in the Bundesliga top two or fail to win the Champions League - if so Melsungen will play in the Champions League next season.

The irony? Melsungen can help Berlin take a huge step towards a top-two finish when the two teams meet on Thursday in Melsungen.

A bizarre situation where a club’s Champions League hopes could depend on helping a direct rival.

A truly awful setup….

They will in the quarterfinal face the winner of 4B (can be PSG/Szeged/GOG) and 5A (can be Kielce/Veszprem/Nantes/Sporting).

Aalborg finish 2nd in Group A.
They will in the quarterfinal face the winner of Wisla Plock and 6A (can be Veszprem/Nantes/Sporting).

Handball fever in Denmark 🇩🇰

Huge TV numbers on Danish TV for the European Championship final🔥

More than 2 million viewers tuned in on TV2 at the peak of Denmark’s final against Germany. The average for the match was 1.77 million!

The semifinal vs Iceland also peaked above 2 million viewers.

That’s more than one third of Denmark’s population (6,017,343).
