In Sept. 2025 Albanese came back from meeting the King and the British prime minister and used a press conference to say people can follow whatever religion they like. He then reminded everyone that when he was sworn in he chose not to put his hand on the Bible. Of course that line will be welcomed by voters who want religion kept out of the oath. My question is why the Governor-General did not expect the traditional Bible oath from a man who campaigns on his Catholic upbringing. He also signed off on her salary.. $709,017 a year, about $214,000 more than her predecessor. Draw your own conclusion about whose pocket that leaves her in. I know what I think.
