My therapeutic style is direct, curious, and relational. I am unflinching and non-carceral about suicidal and homicidal ideation/behaviors. For the first time in my life, I think, people are feeling better and more in control of their lives after talking to me on a regular basis
Thought “I just want to be normal and wear normal little shirts,” not knowing what I meant or wanted, seemingly as a response to 1-2mins of contemplating how I had 10mins left of work
Haha wow, I’m actually snobby about the snobbiness of others. I’m like “that’s so bad, that they’re acting snobby about that. I’m not snobby like them, good for me.”
Oh, I guess I’m snobby about how I look down on “extremely online” young people who don’t know manners or ask each other questions, and their parents who put ipads in front of them. That’s really more sad though, I want to feel more of the sadness and less of the superiority.
The first thing that I thought could be snobby is how I prefer all beverages to be lukewarm/neither hot nor cold. But I don’t think my preference is or makes me “better” than anyone or their preferences. I just feel strongly about it. There’s probably something snobbier about me.
“Always behind what we imagine our best deeds stands the devil, patting us paternally on the shoulder and whispering, ‘Well done!’” C. G. Jung, CW 10, “A Psychological View of Conscience"
Felt complexly sad and enjoyably [literary somethingly] reading these “Boundary Flashcards” just passed on from a co-worker and considering the situations where these phrases would be presented, the need for guidance on what to say in those situations, relating to that need, etc.
I work 8am-6pm Tues-Fri. 18 people are on my caseload. Since February, I’ve written ~350k words of notes on everyone. I turn in 1-5 monthly treatment plans 2-3k words each, 18 monthly reviews, and 3-10 fleshed out note documents daily. I sleep 5-7 hours Mon-Thu and 8-9 Fri-Sun.
My new hobby is spending 6-8 hours in Spa World’s bade pool for water jet therapy and hot/cold pool dips (https://t.co/IzQXwWnbFv), dry/wet/hot/cold/gemstone saunas (https://t.co/cejrmeIa6P), receiving occasional massage, and eating Korean food.
