From Claude: Indian-American professionals are not typically hired at low salaries. They’re heavily concentrated in high-paying fields — software engineering, medicine, finance, and management — where salaries are well above the U.S. median. Studies consistently show Indian Americans have the highest median household income of any ethnic group in the U.S.
Where the “low salary” myth comes from
•Some H-1B visa holders in certain roles or at staffing companies are paid below market — this is a real and documented problem with the visa system
•Entry-level immigrant workers sometimes accept lower starting offers to get a foot in the door
•But this is a subset, not representative of the broader population
Why Indian immigrants tend to build wealth
•Selection effect — immigration is hard; those who make it through are often highly educated and motivated
•Field selection — disproportionate concentration in STEM, medicine, and finance
•Household income stacking — dual-income households where both partners are professionals
•Savings culture — statistically lower consumer debt and higher savings rates
•Community networks — strong professional networks that help with job placement and career advancement
The honest nuance
Not all Indian immigrants are wealthy. There’s significant variation — recent immigrants, those in service jobs, or those on restricted visas face real financial constraints. The visible wealth reflects a specific, highly-selected segment.
The Teslas and big houses reflect high earnings and savings habits — not some trick against the system.
Adiye ….. tell us the source of funds and who is investing! These are talking points from USA politicians - nalla youtube & ai la nondi podura. TN-la approvals were never an issue when it comes to large scale investments! The real issue is the project plan, it’s cost and who invests! Give us those details instead of this fancy dress! 😀😀😀😀😀
@sumanthraman@TVKVijayHQ Crap! Are you expecting some fan boys roaming behind him thinking he is a GoD because he danced & acted in some masala movies has the ability to think rationally & get better to the level of running a Government ? Good luck with that!
Dude offer me a couple of million $s and I still will not come back! The work life in India sucks - adding to the pain the roads, traffic, pollution and the f..king attitude in Govt offices, banks and even hospitals scares the shit out of me! I love India but I am respected here better than there as a human being! The immigration policies will definitely get tightened but once you are here, your life is valued much better! You ran away because of your family issues and you got enough money to influence people but as an ordinary citizen I will better live here!
As a die-hard Thala fan, I find myself deeply disappointed with our own fanbase this time. Given the relentless hostility that Vijay and his supporters directed toward Thala and his fans, we had every reason to actively mobilize and work toward defeating them at the polls. Instead, many of us stayed on the sidelines, assuming he wouldn’t win — a costly miscalculation. The same goes for Rajini fans. What’s done is done, but next time we must step up and take decisive action. Staying silent isn’t just a missed opportunity — it’s a disservice to Tamil Nadu and to this nation as a whole. #thala #TVKVijayHQ
