My favorite presentation of the semester was P&G safe drinking water @ProcterGamble I was surprised to learn that a simple packet of ingredients when poured into dirty water can purify the water in minutes! #ucchangestheworld

@JVCnation discussed how important education is to ending poverty which is interesting because over the whole semester that’s been the them “education” solves so much! #ucchangestheworld

One thing that was so important from @MagnifiedGiving is that giving can be broken down into smaller contributions that still help so many people. A little can go a long way! #ucchangestheworld

@AmeriCorps does so much good, their mission is to strengthen communities, and increase civic engagement with volunteering services which leaves such an impact on lives today. #ucchangestheworld

The fact that even after so many years of service, the peace corps @PeaceCorps still managed to find new ways to serve the people in need of all communities all over the world. #ucchangestheworld

I learned a greater understanding of what UC engineers without borders @EWB_UC is about: they operate by creating meaningful and sustainable infrastructure in developing communities. They perform water distribution and solar array repairs. #ucchangestheworld

I learned from @Villages that’s “fair trade” is that artisans are paid 50% upfront for materials and 50% when it leaves the country. #ucchangestheworld

Something I learned from the @OneSightOrg presentation in class, is that 1 in 7 people need glasses and have no way to get them. Also that the problem is in 3 areas: 1 Awareness problem. 2 Cultural Problem. And 3 Informational problems. #ucchangestheworld

So inspiring and was incredible to hear that @sara_spins and UC has done so much to raise money to provide wheelchairs to the community and it’s truly amazing ! #ucchangestheworld

A valuable gem the Dr. Chris Lewis dropped on us is that, in order to make a true difference in the world, “you have to do something that helps people in an area where you don’t come from.” This is so important! @VillageLifeOP #ucchangestheworld

Interestingly Anthony Russels research when asked citizens if they begged for food, found that 50% reported no, 50% have begged for food. This showed that food insecurity was a big part of the area and many were living on 1 meal a day. @YaleSPH @uofcincyalumni #ucchangestheworld

I learned from Anthony Russels speech with #ucchangestheworld that he first went to Lesotho in 2015 with Peace Corp and eventually decided to provide kids with Egg baskets to provide children with eggs, rice, milk and much more !! @YaleSPH @uofcincyalumni

I learned that @GlobeMedAtUC students have developed and led an organization teaching other students how to mobilize resources to other communities. #ucchangestheworld

A fact that stood out to me from Josephines clinic presentation @JosephinesCincy is that’s only about 1% of trafficked people are kidnapped. They romance them and make them feel comfortable to do what they want snd I thought this we important to know! #ucchangestheworld
