Bulletproof Ninja

Distributed systems, event-sourcing, low latency, JVM, Scala.

Is anyone still using stackoverflow?

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

Why don't we just use URL-safe base64 all the time?

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@shydev69 @anujxforge Shit design, no local caching of workspace, just indefensibly bad.

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@reniaL And yet, lol:

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

Tons of 500s

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@getpostman Am I the only one having issues right now?

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

Grok is not very good at coding, is it?

I find it too verbose, it'll often use outdated APIs, and seems to make basic mistakes.

Actually, the verbosity is staggering. Must be expensive to run.

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@fwbrasil @propensive Scala's moderation *where*?

[Jon Pretty @propensive]

I was cancelled in 2021 for something I didn't do. The impact this had on my life was devastating, but I've never had the courage to talk about it before.

This is my story of the misery that cancellation brought to my career, my social life and my health.

@rockthejvm I find most of them to just be a variation of the Java/Spring/Hibernate crowd.

Some drivers have very high latency.

By "drivers" I mean people driving cars.

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@fay_carsons Coffeescript

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@namyakhann Define "rude".

It can be anywhere from blunt to insults. I can accept blunt, even prefer it, but insults are a cord cutter.

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@bishabosha @riccardo_cardin @softwaremill Yeah, makes sense now. I think I misread the first time around.

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@riccardo_cardin @bishabosha @softwaremill And since the error is returned twice as fast, how does it print 42?

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@krpinter @vin_acct They exist. It's called a temporal debugger.

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@dexterleng @ChShersh Mid devs can't reason about functional programming

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@ChShersh If I'm paid, I feel some amount of responsibility. But, it's not something I'm losing sleep over, so long as I've given my input

[Bulletproof Ninja @bp_ninja]

@fwbrasil No disagreement from me, but now do the other side. Unconstitutional pressure of social media to censor free expression, election interference by suppression of legitimate news stories, and now proposal of taxation of unrealized gains and effective tax rates of 72+%

💯% shitshow
