Can we talk about the fact that although emotions fluctuate often with BPD, the current emotional experience feels life-long and when negative, is too crippling to cope with regardless of the knowledge that it will pass?!
it’s okay to grieve losses of all kinds. grieve the years you lost to mental health, the memories you missed out on, the person you wanted to be, the person you thought you were, people who you thought would be there forever. all losses hurt, and grief is a valid reaction 🤍
I feel like people sometimes see BPD as this cute quirk and it gets romanticised when in reality, there is NOTHING cute about having an illness that is so complex and intricate, that presents in over 200 different ways, & that makes every day feel like the worst heartbreak
Does anyone who’s done DBT feel like skills in interpersonal effectiveness have just made them a dick and they liked themselves more when they didn’t say no to people etc? Bc now I’m just paranoid about what people are thinking of me for speaking up
@flyingawxy When I’m feeling rubbish often chocolate or cookies are all that will motivate me to get up, with coffee, a small high maybe. Or like a reward. Then I’ll probs go back to bed.
Anyone else just sleep, eat til they can’t move, and then sleep again? I do this a lot when I’m depressed. I read somewhere it’s a type 2 bipolar thing but maybe just depression in general
@alxneandsad Absolutely this. Yes. It’s crazy isn’t it. I tried explaining this to his dad so many times and he just never ever got it. It’s bizarre to me that you wouldn’t feel this naturally. He’s a narcissist, so there we go 🤷🏼♀️
@alxneandsad I really admire that you still have faith in men of any sort bc I definitely don’t. And I feel you on all of the above. It’s so exhausting, but equally my son is all that keeps me going. I’m just scared of burnout bc of the BPD/bipolar with the lack of rest with a baby
