4:30 p.m. update: the gas leak has been controlled. The gas company will be on-scene for an extended period of time to make repairs. Motorists can expect continued traffic delays in the area while repairs are made.

Brooklyn Boulevard is temporarily closed in both directions at Kentucky Ave N due to a major gas leak. Fire and emergency crews are on-scene; the gas company has been notified and is responding to the scene. Traffic is being redirected.

#BPFirefact: In 2020, @bpfire responded to 8,262 calls for service. 6,059 (73%) of those are emergency medical related incidents. All Brooklyn Park firefighters are trained as EMTs and several are also certified Paramedics.
