“Hello, this is YG Entertainment. We have seen the documentary. BLACKPINK will not renew with us. All rights, including the group name, now belong to LISA, JENNIE, JISOO, and ROSÉ. We wish them the best now that they are allowed to speak.”
Fans reaction to watching #LISA’s Documentary — #AlwaysLalisa:
“YG you’re lowk FUCK*D”
“You could tell it’s not easy for her. like it’s a bit dark”
“I kept crying throughout the documentary. When Lisa talked about the journey she’s been through, it’s not only her mom who would cry.”
“The documentary about Lalisa is about what happened after Lisa left YG, and what led to her decision to leave YG.
My feeling is that Lisa and YG’s relationship was almost like that between parents and a rebellious child going through puberty. The way the film tells the story makes it feel like, throughout Lisa’s growth, YG played more of the role of a strict East Asian parent than her actual parents did: setting strict expectations and planning out everything about her future. To YG, Lisa didn’t need to be someone with her own thoughts and ideas. She just needed to perfectly complete every task YG gave her.
Her other three members felt more like siblings growing up alongside her. No matter how much their “parent” (YG) pushed them down, the four of them understood each other better than anyone else. It felt like a long-delayed adolescence.
Maybe teenage Lisa had a lot of confusion and needed a lot of answers. She had so many things she wanted to do, but she was exhausted from spending so much of her life as a trainee.
Now, she has finally grown up. Her wings are fully formed, and she gets to choose for herself what she wants to do.”
….
She also said that was wrong and would never do that today. She also mentioned how she was worried about her safety when this “YG hacker” started to send death threats specifically to her
Lisa apparently talked about the N-word leaks and said that she had to cover rap songs when she had just come from Thailand, so she wasn’t educated on what the word meant She said she wanted to release a statement with LLOUD addressing the situation, but YG didn’t want her to.
