What are the odds $goog manages to close positive today, or at least well higher by the end of week?
I will be fascinated to learn where their capex lands over the next 2-3 years...
I continue to believe there is a ton of value in the assorted Nintendo IP relative to the sub $40b enterprise valuation today. $ntdoy Roughly 25% of market cap in cash to ride out memory price issues and await marquee game releases for switch 2.
Nintendo at ~$40b enterprise valuation screams extremely cheap to me relative to the IP catalogue and strategy going forward. Maybe that's ~20x earnings next year on an enterprise basis, but look at the takeout comps in gaming in recent years, compare IP quality, etc. We'll see.
I would really love to get in touch with someone that understands $gcts very well. I've had some really interesting conversations this month, but I don't feel I've gotten to the depth I need to understand potential adoption of this new chip.
I've had some losses that sting over the years, no investor escapes that. But the loss on Spirit airlines hurts the most in light of today's headlines.
@invertedfragil1 Going through it currently brother... It's thrown me harder than anything I could have imagined. But a day at a time it gets better. I have 2 small boys, and starting to feel the peace of being a wholly undistracted dad helps. Keep your chin up friend.
Sub $50b EV for $ntdoy is beginning to look extremely attractive. I continue to add. Extremely valuable IP, early Switch 2 success with biggest game releases still on the horizon. And waking up an IP flywheel strategy that had long been neglected.
@compound248 Question is whether opportunity is being created. I did reasonably well buying a handful of retailers after the Amazon whole foods deal was announced.
I strongly suspect I'd fare far worse if I tried to wade into this in a meaningful way though. I'm too dumb for software.
The $wix collapse after their massive move to buy in almost 1/3 of the float is fascinating. Anyone close enough to have a solid conversation on this name?
Hey guys, a change in strategy eliminated my role today so looking for a new gig
Can give more details in private but 3 YOE doing L/S at a FO and another yr or so interning at a $1B+ HF
Will move anywhere
We’re moving the needle 📈 We’ve officially doubled our paid rides per week in less than a year. This is what responsible and effective scaling of autonomous technology looks like.
The recent Bloomberg article about $ntdoy Switch 2 demand woes does not concern me on bit as someone hoping to own this name for years. The new pokemon world builder appears to be a hit, and Switch 2 mainline Mario, Zelda etc will grow the user base when the time eventually comes
I have a genuine curiosity what market will look like for $gcts 5g chips over time. Anyone following closely? Perhaps those that were in the weeds once upon a time on $gogo?
@forwardshortleg Frankly, I'll probably add a tiny bit. I'm no expert in this field by any means. They seem to have a high quality product and we know Adobe was willing to pay ~twice current price for them not very long ago. That's the whole thesis I'm afraid.
Spending a few minutes brushing up on $bkng this morning, but inclined to be a buyer before noon. On ttm dividends+buybacks it's a 6.5% yielding asset with growth, and a long track record of being a well-managed true compounder. I've bought worse, I know that much lol.
@RealJimChanos Follow ups? What a novel idea... These analysts didn't want to ask anything. The lone question on related parties etc was basically "here's the set, tell us what we want to hear". Zero probing.
