The Bethel Park School District Board of School Directors has named Dr. Matthew J. Patterson the district’s 13th full-time superintendent. He will succeed Dr. James Walsh following his retirement in June, with a start date to be announced.

BPSD will operate on a 2-hour delay on Monday, Feb. 9, due to sub-zero temps. A boil water advisory also remains in effect for NAMS, Franklin, Memorial, Washington, and Penn. Food service will continue as normal, with bottled water provided and other safety measures in place.
School board approved calendar update: To make up for the Dec. 2, 2025, Snow Day, March 31, 2026, is now a full day; April 1 is an early-dismissal makeup day (no K). Q3 Records Day (no school) moves to April 6.

The Bethel Park High School campus, including Black Hawk Drive, will close to traffic at 7 a.m. tomorrow for snow removal. Unauthorized vehicles will not be permitted, and motorists should use alternate routes until work is completed.
Due to the winter storm, Bethel Park Schools will operate on a Remote Learning Day on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. All district buildings will remain closed today and throughout the school day on Monday. A decision on after-school activities will be announced on Monday afternoon.
