We had a blast competing in a friendly diaper-changing showdown today in the office. Celebrating our associate and soon-to-be dad Patrick as he gears up for late nights, diaper duty, and baby snuggles. Excited wait to welcome the newest and tiniest member of the Caron family!
Closing out the week on a high note with two positive decisions for my clients. One matter was approved without the need for a hearing, and the other was accepted following a successful hearing. Very pleased for both clients!
Happy to celebrate a big win today at the Court of King’s Bench, led by two exceptional litigators at our firm, our Partner, Dan Gilborn, and associate, Scott Mackenzie. A complex and high-stakes case, but their sharp advocacy delivered an outstanding result for their client.
Celebrating victories and new additions to our team this first quarter. Caron & Partners is thrilled to welcome Andrew MacGregor to the Partnership! @CaronPartners
Justice Battista, setting aside a H&C refusal:
>>[13] In the present case, the Applicant’s establishment evidence played a central role in his submissions that he was deserving of H&C relief, yet the Officer failed to explain the constrained weight assigned to his evidence. The Officer then fettered their discretion by finding that such evidence could not be determinative.

Caron & Partners LLP @CaronPartners was recognized as a top immigration firm both nationally and regionally. Thank you to our clients for their ongoing trust in us.
The Trudeau government is considering removing the right to claim asylum from people who cross the Canada-US border to make their claim. They will instead only be able to apply for a pre-removal risk assessment.
As well, Canada is considering ending flag-poling, and will let people apply to renew their status in person at designated points.
