We are absolutely thrilled to share that we’ve achieved the Platinum OPAL Award! We are immensely proud of this achievement. A very special thank you to Mrs Lennon and Miss Scott for all their hard work. Your dedication has made this possible. #Opal
We are incredibly proud of our pupils who performed a prize-winning rap written by Y5 tonight at the Schools Sports Partnership Awards evening at the Fed Brewery. It incorporated the themes of Friendship and Sport, and they performed wonderfully on the big stage.
Today we marked #VEDay with flag-making, 1940s dancing, and family memoirs. Pupils explored their histories & shared stories from relatives. A huge thank you to the grandparents who joined our special assembly! #LestWeForget

Our school choir singing a song written and produced by our very talented music teacher, Mrs Kitson in honour of Remembrance Sunday. The lyrics are inspired by ‘For the Fallen’ by Lawrence Binyon and ‘In Flanders Fields’ by Captain John McRae. #RemembranceDay2024

Year 6 have been amazing in their end-of-year show. Their singing and acting were superb, and the KS2 choir members were a fantastic Chorus supporting them. A brilliant way to end their time at Bill Quay 🎶 We were extremely proud of them all!
Year 5 children were invited to Durham City Hall to join in the #Technext festival for schools! The challenge was no small feat – they had to come up with a innovative tech-based solution to tackle a real-life problem Three groups from our school made it to the shortlist. Go BQ!
A massive thank you to Bill Quay staff, Bill Quay Joinery and Nissan for all of their help! Everyone has worked so hard to help us get Opal off the ground....I'm sure you will agree our school is starting to look pretty impressive 😁
A massive well done to our 3/4 football team. They played so well together tonight and have qualified for the finals next week! Absolutely smashed it!! ⚽️
Great success today for our gymnasts in the Gateshead competition. All four teams came away with medals. The gold-medal winning teams will go on to represent Gateshead at the Tyne and Wear Games later in the term. We are so proud of them all!
