Coleman Coliseum transformed into a powder keg during one of the wildest nights of the @nate_oats era.
As frustration boiled over during a heated SEC battle with Mississippi State, Oats focused the brunt of his displeasure toward official Terry Oglesby and collected two technical fouls, his 13th and 14th overall, in a span of just 42 seconds.
When Oglesby delivered the second whistle and signaled the ejection, the @AlabamaMBB coach marched off the court to a standing ovation from the Crimson Tide faithful in attendance.
The drama began with 9:19 remaining when Oats challenged Oglesby over what he viewed as a missed foul call. Oglesby answered with a technical foul, but the exchange only escalated. Oats continued to press his case, and with 8:37 left on the clock, Oglesby assessed a second technical and ejected the Alabama coach for the first time in his college coaching career.
The wild series of events injected even more energy into the building. Alabama faced the final eight-plus minutes without its head coach and embraced the challenge. The Crimson Tide executed key possessions, strung together critical defensive stops and protected its lead throughout the closing minutes despite losing its head coach and emotional leader.
Jahvon Quinerly powered the offense with a team-high 21 points, while Charles Bediako dominated the paint with 15 points, five rebounds and six blocks. Their efforts secured an 80-75 victory and pushed Oats’ record in games featuring a technical foul to 12-1.
The only ejection of his college coaching career ended the same way so many of his other technical-foul games had ended — with an Alabama victory.

@JimmyStein_LOB Fair point and I remember you disagreeing at the time.
But the fact remains Alabama was the first to use a local injunction to attempt to circumvent an NCAA ruling.
It's a slippery slope and precedent has now been set.
Hopefully a 2nd local judge upholds integrity here as well
We are thrilled to welcome Lydia to The Capstone!
We had a lot of interest in the position to lead our historic program. Lydia articulated a clear plan to build on our rich tradition, recruit at the highest levels, and develop the young women in our program both on and off the course.

A beautiful tribute from @wimpsanderson1 this morning to his late wife, Annette, who passed away one year ago today on April 30, 2025. As the First Lady of @AlabamaMBB for several years, she touched the lives of so many people.
Labaron Philon on Nate Oats' preparation for Michigan:
"You can tell he's been losing sleep and just putting in the extra hours of just wanting to win this game. I see the look in his eyes. So, I know he really wants to win this game."

Nate Oats has Alabama men's basketball rolling into the Sweet 16… but Michigan fans know his story started right here.

"I've met with him in person... I'm an adult. I've made mistakes. We all have things we'd like to do differently... Now is the time he needs more love from the adults in his life than at any point..." - Nate Oats on his conversations with Aden Holloway since his arrest
Thinking about this moment from Pettway. Final press conference of his first season in Kennesaw, coming off losing 7 of 8. Zero doubt in his vision.
"All we gotta do is kick down this wall, because it's great on the other side."
Welcome to the other side
We got a very special box with a VERY special guest opener to help me out!

College football's most decorated head coach Nick Saban spoke at the White House on Friday at a college sports roundtable hosted by President Trump.
Saban called on lawmakers to fix issues he has seen at the collegiate level, where Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals have turned the focus away from education.
"How much does anybody talk about getting an education anymore? Nobody talks about it at all, which is the most important thing any of these student athletes can do in terms of enhancing their future."
