My SaaS forecast model has been downloaded 40,917 📈 times!
It's the most popular free download from my blog. I have a BIG upgrade to the model coming soon.
All those plane rides to conferences, dinners, and events are paying off. That's my spreadsheet 📟 time.
This is same model that I used as an in-house SaaS CFO and now as a fractional SaaS CFO for my clients.
I'm often asked if I can take on one-time modeling projects for operational planning and fundraise events or exits. Unfortunately, bandwidth does not allow it.
But! I'm packaging up my new model into a "how to" course so that you can use my model in your SaaS business or in your services practice.
You receive access to the Excel model, lifetime updates, a private community, and an in-depth tutorial on how to operate the model.
I have 60 people on the course waitlist now 😀
Just type ➡️ "waitlist" ⬅️ in the comments, and I'll send you the waitlist link.
2025 budget season is here! Great time to upgrade your forecast/budget process.

It’s finally here! My 5th Annual SaaS Tech Stack Report
What are the top software being used in SaaS companies? Find out in this 50-page in-depth report.
Five years ago, this started as just a finance and accounting software survey but has expanded much beyond that. There is so much software that intersects with the Office of the CFO.
Please remember…this is NOT a market map or my selection of the top solutions.
It’s based on participants naming their software stack.
Highlights:
> 21 software categories
> Top players in each category
> Software being used by ARR company size
> 535 participants
> Market share changes YOY
> + debt financing players

Here are the 5 drivers of SaaS valuations per ICONIQ.
We know valuation is a bit art and science. But the more we can firm up the science part, the better.
I listed ICONIQ’s five drivers of valuation per their August report. I also listed some resources to help reinforce these valuation drivers.
Great reading over the upcoming holiday.
SaaS Valuation Drivers:
1) Revenue Growth
2) Net Dollar Retention
3) Gross Margin
4) Profitability
5) Market Dynamics

A note on NDR...this is really 2 metrics in one. Your GDR (health of your recurring revenue) and your expansion layer. You must understand both.
See you in the New Year!

What does it take for a 10x ARR exit in this market?
A lot of "green" across the board. Ha, kind of a double meaning with green.
Green - best in class metrics
Yellow - solid and improving
Red - way off base

@MBonvoyAssist denied late checkout for tomorrow even though a titanium elite. And we are staying at a courtyard in San Antonio. Not a resort or convention hotel. Stand by your benefits. Never upgraded as titanium so you can at least do the small things right.
@j1194@OneMileataTime@MarriottBonvoy@garyleff@JTGenter Titanium is almost almost worthless. Never upgraded. And now being denied today a late checkout even when guaranteed (except at a resort or convention hotel which is not my case today). They offered to hold my bags until 2pm. Gee thanks.
