Donald Trump just posted a photo of a wind turbine next to birds and captioned it “Killing birds by the millions!”

He posted this without irony.

For every single bird killed by a wind turbine, nuclear and fossil fuel plants kill 2,118 birds. Coal alone kills roughly 7.9 million birds a year in the United States. Wind turbines? Between 140,000 and 328,000. That is not a defence of wind turbines.

We are living in genuinely, historically stupid times. Only rivalled, frankly, by the medieval peasants who blamed the Black Death on cats and promptly killed all the cats, which meant the rats multiplied, which meant more plague.

At least the peasants had the excuse of having no access to information whatsoever.

Trump has the internet. He chose this.

You’re making a huge claim here. DHS says she is not a citizen and did not produce a valid U.S. birth certificate, while her attorney says she has a Maryland birth certificate plus supporting records, filed a habeas petition, and got an injunction, yet ICE still transferred her to Louisiana and counsel says access has been limited.

So stop trying this case on X. If your facts are solid, put the documentation in front of the judge, allow attorney access, and let the process work. If you are wrong, every extra hour you keep a U.S.-born person in detention is a stain you cannot wave away with a thread.

UPDATE: Dulce Diaz was in fact a U.S. citizen and the Trump admin has now acknowledged the fact and issued her a passport. Below was DHS’s angry (and utterly false) claim to the contrary.

They’re actually organized, sponsored rioters… who are there to “injure everybody.”

Which is an interesting claim…

Because the videos show protesters, and the press, being beaten by ICE agents, pushed under moving trucks, shoved by police, hit with batons, struck with rubber bullets, and blasted with tear gas.

So, for people allegedly showing up with the goal of hurting everyone around them, they seem remarkably committed to being on the receiving end of the violence.

But, my favorite part of his logic is…

According to DHS, the fact that someone saw an ANTIFA flag means all the protesters must be organized, and funded, by this imaginary organization.

Because that’s apparently how evidence works now.

So, when counter protesters showed up wearing Proud Boys gear… does that mean the counter-protests were sponsored by the Proud Boys?

And since some counter-protesters were filmed assaulting anti-ICE demonstrators, and lighting things on fire…

Does that mean every counter-protester was a violent rioter?

Or do we only play this game when it’s people criticizing the government?

Because if one alleged flag means an entire movement is secretly funded by a nonexistent organization, we’re going to have to start applying that standard consistently.

But, something tells me they won’t.
