@MeidasTouch Let's be clear. In law, communications and documents prepared in contemplation of and for litigation are privileged. That does not apply to the Epstein files. They are evidence. Even if there was a privilege, it would be Epstein's, not Trump's.

@Reil76 Most of the mines & minerals (that includes oil & gas) are reserved to the Crown. If Alberta is part of Canada, the Crown is the Province of Alberta. If Alberta is no longer part of Canada . . . then what? S.35 of the Constitution would no longer apply.

@belle_levesque Everyone considered for appointment goes through a rigorous selection process, including an interview with a panel comprised of judges and lawyers. There is no partisanship in the panel, and it recommends appointments.

@TheBreakdownAB s.33 of the Charter says in s. 33(1), that it can only be "applied to s. 2 or ss. 7 to 15 of this Charter." Ergo, it cannot be applied to s. 35. A fundamental function of the Courts in a tripartite governance system is to hold the government to account. Apparently she is mistaken

@McAllisterBruce Your issue @McAllisterBruce is that they are upholding the law as it is, and not as you think it should be. And therein lies the real issue, which is you advocating for ignoring the rule of law unless it happens to be one you favour.

@McAllisterBruce The Forever Canadian petition (Lukaczek) was found constitutional by the CEO and has not been challenged in the Court. The Liberal appointed judges in Alberta are all Albertans. They are required to be non-partisan, just as are judges appointed by the UCP (provincially).

@edwardrow The wind power builder had leased $120M of the power to be produced. The cancellation of the project means it won't receive those funds. How does investing $120M in oil & gas recoup its loss? Is Trump saying that if they do that, the US government will pay them $120M?

@andrew_leach Is it unreasonable to expect that the staff of a political party would know the law with respect to who is entitled to have a copy of the electors list? And further, to know that the Centurion Project is not a party so entitled? Regradless how it was obtained or its use.
