To better understand battery swapping you need to understand that its covert purpose is not necessarily to get a charged battery in 2 - 3 minutes. That's great, but that's just part of it.
Even if there are never any partner swap cars, battery swapping is to differentiate yourself from other EV owners.
Its true purpose isn't just a 3-minute charge; it’s a status symbol that separates you from every other EV owner. Swapping is just the 'hook' to pull you into the ecosystem. Once you’re in, the differentiators and exclusive service create such a walled garden that the infrastructure costs don't matter.
Nio isn't just selling cars; they're building a Chinese EV powerhouse with a cult-like loyalty that will eventually knock Tesla off its mountain top.
Once the Chinese figure out that Nio is not going to go bankrupt, get out of the way of the stock price, because you're going to get run over by national pride.

Even accounting for dilution, the market is valuing this profitable giant at a fraction of its true replacement cost.
