Thanks @ChadDKollas for continuing to highlight that a broad push to deprescribe opioids for pain is not always beneficial. In palliative care we see frequent benefit of thoughtful use of opioids to improve QOL and function.

"Our patients deserve a more thoughtful approach to pain care policy than one that blindly embraces unilateral opioid reductionism."

Neither patients suffering from opioid use disorder nor patients suffering from severe pain for which opioid therapy is medically indicated should experience stigma.
#RightPrescribing is the pathway to #CompassionatePainCare and the only ethical approach to the #PainCareCrisis.
SO EXCITED @PCORI plans to award us $2.1M to conduct the first-ever RCT of ways to involve patients and the public in research. Dreaming up important projects and doing them with incredible colleagues at @DartmouthHealth@GeiselMed is surreal. https://t.co/6R52fCuU5E

The media silence on this is deafening.
Did he have a head CT? What did it show?
Did he have stitches? Tetanus shot?
The NYT ran nonstop stories about Biden’s health after the debate but can’t be bothered to report on the health of someone who was literally shot in the head?
❤️🩹Writing this piece for @JAMAInternalMed w @JRandallCurtis1' wife, Amy, and daughter, Alice, has been a most meaningful experience🫂We call for a discourse on medical aid in dying rooted in compassion & respect-one that does Randy's memory proud➡️🔗: https://t.co/y5S1NXXIB1🙏
"Chair placement is a simple, no cost, low tech intervention that increases a physician’s likelihood of sitting during a bedside consultation and resulted in higher patients’ scores for both satisfaction and communication." https://t.co/yqpSOmk0NN
That new fellow feeling! Academic medicine is so hard sometimes but there really is nothing like the joy of teaching so many smart and dedicated folks. Welcome to our team ❤️ #hapc

One time I heard about this guy who walked around saying people should just love everyone, but especially those who society rejected and belittled.
Anyway, the higher ups didn't like it AT ALL and he wound up getting executed. Wish I could remember his name...
