I was recently added to a “rape apologists” list on Twitter, by someone who didn’t agree with me on here. I reported it.
My report was rejected.
Twitter thinks this is acceptable behaviour, so I’m going to start spending time on Threads instead.
Good work, @elonmusk
@Greenchutes@danielgoyal I’ve followed Richard Murphy for a while, and read some of his writing. I’m familiar with MMT, and interested. But it’s a bit of a semantic argument saying that all money is invented by BoE. Yes, in theory, but in practice taxation does raise funds and that means less QE needed.
@Greenchutes@danielgoyal It’s demonstrably false to say that 100% of NHS funding is not from tax. Rather, the opposite is true. The overwhelming majority of NHS funding is from tax and national insurance contributions. The remainder is from direct patient charging and arguably some from QE.
@Greenchutes@danielgoyal Splitting hairs? The NHS is mainly funded through taxation. Govt/BoE can magic some money, sure, but what percentage of NHS funding is from the MMT (Magic Money Tree)?
@shmergel@BBCSimonJack If you have a problem with confidentiality at Coutts, why are you aiming the blame at Simon Jack and the BBC?
At the heart of it, it’s a publicity-seeking grifter inventing conspiracy theories rather than accept he’s been kicked out of the old boy’s club for lack of funds.
@BBCSounds@BBCNews Where are all the Free Market Tories demonstrating their faith in the markets to drive down prices? Are they no longer true believers? 😮
@BestForBritain Imagine being too scared to say that better trading/travel/science/education/opportunities with our own continent would be a good thing.
But being proud to say you want to cut foreign staff in care homes and forcibly deport people to Rwanda.
That’s today’s Tory party.
In the 1990s, a New York group calling itself the Barbie Liberation Organisation swapped the voice boxes inside Barbie dolls and GI Joes in shops, so that Barbie bellowed
"Vengeance is mine!", while Joe chirped "Wanna go shopping? 😂
@ashleylaneuk @gorskon That’s not what I meant by gender norm. I think (don’t know) that the OP’s point is how does someone in their early teens know what gender really means when they have so little life experience. Obvs I’ve stepped on the gender landmine, but FWIW I have no problem with trans.
@Femi_Sorry There’s a difference, but it’s only slight. In my view, no serving politician should also be a broadcaster. And I say that as someone who enjoys Lammy’s show. MPs should have no second jobs: no consultancy, no executive board membership, and no media presenters.
