@HunterBiden@DetroitMDG@darthnalddev Oh my gosh I haven’t been to Bethany since 2022 after going almost every year. Absolutely love it there. But rentals have gotten insane. Love Grotto. Love Mickeys. I miss the old crab restaurant that burned down 20ish years ago. Forget the name.

@STRCshow@PensareBBall If you were retiring right now maybe. But that’s $40,000/yr if you draw down 4%. Are you assuming a single person or a couple? And in what part of the country?
@PensareBBall I graduated college and living in a HCOL area calculated my wife and I would need to save about $4m-$4.5m. 22 years later I’m thinking it’s gonna need to be closer to $5.5-$6.5m depending how long we live. Or we move to a cheaper area (but we like where we are)
@PatrickHeizer So what do you think is needed? I live in a HCOL area and if I save $5m for retirement I’ll be able to draw about $240,000/yr in today’s dollars. My property taxes today are $18,500 and aren’t going to decrease over the next 20 years so right off the bat I’m down to $220,000.

When the Pentagon announced a $620 million loan last year to a startup linked to Donald Trump Jr., defense officials and the company tried to tamp down suspicions of cronyism.

Louisiana’s governor has:
• largely ceded the parole board’s power to an algorithm
• restricted early release for the severely ill or injured
• lowered the age for adult prosecution to 17
Now he’s asking for 688 more beds at the state’s largest prison.
