@Only1tommo In 1999, as an 11 year old Australian, where we had at most one game a weekend shown live but an hour-long highlights package from the weekend
Or…just tragically misinformed, biased, or worse.

Hamas ministry’s own numbers list the death toll at aprx 75k.
They’ve acknowledged 35k+ of their own combatants killed.
These are THEIR numbers.
It’s one of the lowest, if not the lowest civilian to combatant ratio in the history of urban warfare, I think @SpencerGuard would be able to back me up on this.
A “genocide” where the nation in question;
1. Allows aid in.
2. Allows for humanitarian corridors and warns about upcoming strikes.
3. Risks their own soldiers lives by sending in ground troops to a booby trapped terrorist enclave with countless miles of tunnels dug underneath them.
War is horrific. The results of war are horrific, but let’s be very clear about three things;
1. There is no Genocide.
If Israel’s intent had been to wipe out the Palestinian people, it would have done so easily without any of the above referenced points.
2. Mr. Bardem continues to perpetuate the greatest blood libel of the common era, which will no doubt lead to more violence against Jews in the diaspora.
3. Hamas still hasn’t disarmed. They still hold Gaza hostage. They are still terrorizing the very people they are supposed to serve and protect. They have been, and continue to be, responsible for all of this.
“I want to speak tonight not just as a representative of the Jewish community, but as an Australian. Because what’s been laid bare through this Royal Commission isn’t abstract. It’s not theoretical. It’s not political spin.
It’s people.”
Raw and powerful words by my @AIJAC_Update colleague and friend, Joel Burnie, who speaks for so many in the Australian Jewish community here.
The first week of the Royal Commission’s public hearings have come to a close.
So many harrowing stories of antisemitism in Australia.
Patients who can’t go to hospital without fearing mistreatment if they reveal their religion.
Students in public schools who are constantly harassed with Nazi salutes and the glorification of the Bondi attackers as teachers stand by and refuse to intervene.
Small business owners losing their livelihoods as their shops are burnt down.
Adults abused on the street for wearing a Star of David leaving them fearful of going to the local shopping centre and frequenting other public spaces.
Kids threatened on the local bus as their other passengers tell them if they find a Jew they will burn it down while players on the footy field some as young as 7 are being targeted each week with vile abuse such as ‘Hitler should have finished you off’. The situation is so bad the local league appointed an investigator to deal with all the incidents.
And the list goes on and on and on.
The targets are young and old.
The abuse public and in private.
The culprits from every walk of life.
It’s systemic, it’s normalised.
There is a pandemic of hate in our country and our leaders must bring it to an end.
The Royal Commission is the opportunity.
It must not be missed.
The Israeli reality show Race for a Million (the Israeli version of Amazing Race) has provided an extraordinary moment.
A contestant named Omri, who lost his left leg in the war, encountered a task for the first time that he was unable to perform due to his condition. Another team, who had already completed the task and could have gone forward and guaranteed advancing to the next stage, decided to help. The male member of the team replaced Omri and performed the task again with Omri's teammate Itay.
THIS is Israel and these are Israelis as I know them. אין כמו ישראל
Hamas, when they murdered Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas after kidnapping them from their beds.
The terrorists told Yarden, while in captivity, that his family was dead and that he could find a “better” wife and have new children.
The treatment of Australia’s Jewish community has been utterly disgraceful.
The abandonment of it by the current government has been nothing short of treachery.
Since eight Jews arrived here on the First Fleet, generations of patriotic loyal Jews have absolutely loved this country to bits and given so much to it.
Perhaps there is no better example of this than military service during the two World Wars.
In World War I, 13% of the Jewish population served for the Australian army, which was way higher than the percentage of the general Australian population (9.2%). In the same war, 1.3% of Australia’s Jews died fighting for this country, which was also at a higher rate than Australia’s general population (1.26%).
In World War II, Australia’s Jews answered the call again, with 13.7% of its community fighting for their nation, which was a very similar percentage to that of the general Australian population (14.2%). In the same war, 0.41% of this country’s Jews died in battle and 0.57% of Australia’s general population paid the ultimate price.
Sir John Monash is one of Australia’s greatest military heroes.
In every Australian synagogue, a prayer for the King and the Royal Family is recited and is usually permanently visible hanging on a wall.
We have been here for 240 years and are intrinsically intertwined in the great Australian story, whether it be in business/job creation, medicine, science, philanthropy, the arts, education, sport or politics, most notably two
Governors-General Sir Isaac Isaacs and Sir Zelman Cowen.
But above all else, we have fought and spilled our blood alongside our non-Jewish brothers and sisters in order to play our part in ensuring Australia is the free, beautiful country that it is today.
Australia is built on the fundamental notion of mateship, but how its Jewish community has been relentlessly attacked and largely ignored for the last 2.5 years is absolutely no way to treat a mate, especially after all they’ve done for this amazing country for centuries, and particularly in the capacity as heroic Diggers.
The time has come for everyday Australians to start sticking up for their Jewish brothers and sisters who are suffering daily torment and anguish largely in silence and alone. Because without mateship, Australia ceases to be Australia.
The AFL doesn’t just have a Jew problem, it has a SIGNIFICANT Jew problem.
It was bad enough that the Jewish community wasn’t mentioned once during last week’s SCG pre-game Bondi attack tribute, but the phrase was actually CUT from the tribute after originally being included!
That is 100 times worse. Utterly reprehensible and disgusting conduct from the AFL. I can’t think of a bigger kick in the teeth to a group of people in their darkest hour.
The Bondi terror attack was a racist slaughter by Islamic extremists which targeted Jews at a Hanukkah party.
That’s like cutting the phrase “American victims” from a 9/11 tribute or “Australian victims” from a Bali Bombings tribute.
It would be comical if it wasn’t so disturbing because it illustrates just how deep the rot is at the AFL when it comes to attitudes towards Jews.
And it raises a whole raft of dark, sinister questions.
Who exactly is the AFL placating by removing references of Jews from a tribute to victims of a terrorist attack targeting Jews?
What kind of sick people do you want to please that get offended by the mere use of the word “Jews”? Radical Muslims? Woke antisemites? Nazis?
Is this who the AFL want to appease at the expense of the innocent Jewish community who have contributed so much to the great game for more than a century?
On 3AW, CEO Andrew Dillon said the feedback to the pre-game SCG tribute was overwhelmingly positive. Did any of that ‘feedback’ come from the community that matters the most? The Jewish community? What a delusional statement!
Sadly, this contempt and disdain for Jews isn’t localised to the AFL. It’s a phenomenon that can be seen all over the western world.
No matter how many Jewish names are on hospital wings, educational institutions, museums and public places, at the end of the day, all of that goodwill and philanthropy counts for nothing and societies ultimately turns on their Jews.
The AFL is no different in this respect. Jews such as Richard Pratt (Carlton), David Smorgon (Bulldogs), Joseph Gutnick (Melbourne), Reuben Pelerman (Brisbane), Reuben Sackville (St Kilda) and David Mandie (Richmond) have played instrumental roles in keeping multiple clubs alive.
Quite simply, without their contribution, the AFL would not be the thriving 18-team competition that it currently is and might not actually exist in its current form at all. It certainly wouldn't be benefiting from a multi-billion-dollar broadcast deal right now, that's for sure! And despite that, look at how the community that produced those saviours has been treated by the league.
Let’s not forget, either, that the AFL sent out a press release about the Bondi terror attack at the time, but chose not to post it, or any messages of support for/solidarity with the Jewish community, on any of their social media channels. As if to say, they acknowledge it, but don’t want to acknowledge it too much. Sickening. It would’ve been better if they said nothing at all.
This all gets back to the fake, cynical version of "Diversity and Inclusion" that the AFL has adopted.
They claim to be a community leader in multiculturalism and social issues and pretty much speak up about everything and anything to do with racism, but have remarkably been completely silent about the worst explosion of antisemitism, both here and abroad, in history. The AFL has done the calculations and is content with abandoning the Australian Jewish community in its darkest hour.
In all of the "Diversity and Inclusion" content on its own websites, there is no mention of Jews and not a single visibly Jewish person in any imagery or video. Because in the disingenuous version of "Diversity and Inclusion" that the AFL adheres to, only select “approved” minorities are championed and celebrated while Jews don't count and are permanently excluded / discriminated against, ironically completely undermining the notion of “Diversity and Inclusion”.
Legitimate, genuine and sincere “Diversity and Inclusion” would dictate that one of the smallest minorities in the country (120,000 people at 0.4% of the population) that has experienced a 400-500% increase in racist attacks/incidents in the last 2.5 years would get all the focus and support imaginable.
But the AFL simply has not done that because of the warped version of “Diversity and Inclusion” they hold dear.
It’s been a heartbreaking betrayal of the AFL's passionate, loyal Jewish footy fans and it’s one that may never fully be forgiven.
Yesterday we read in the ABC that poor UnAustralian of the year Grace Tame has lost corporate gigs
Boohoo Grace
This morning another reminder of what Globalise the intifada is
Any company that still gives Grace Tame a gig should be judged accordingly
A reminder when getting the violins out for Grace Tame losing 5 figure corporate speaking gigs, that due to the cause that she got the pom poms out for, Matilda - unlike her - won’t get a chance to recover
How can a tribute commemorating the Bondi massacre not mention the Australian Jewish community which was the target of the attack? The AFL supposedly prides itself on being “inclusive and diverse” yet consistently drops the ball when it comes to Jews. Total and utter frauds
Khamenei was literally behind plots to murder Australians on Australian soil, which led to the expulsion of the Iranian ambassador. There is something fundamentally wrong with our country that a literal enemy of the state is being openly mourned and praised like this!
The Iranian regime hit the Palestinian hospital in East Jerusalem.
Nothing?
No?
#CeasefireNOW crowd?
#FreePalestine crowd?
No speeches? Letters? Protests?
Of course not.
They don’t really care about Palestinians.
They just hate Jews.
Accounts who never shut up about Israel have suddenly gone very quiet on Iran and quickly changed the topic. @Craig_Foster talking about soccer and @bobjcarr talking about plumbing. Both men marched under a photograph of the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
