In 2019 in Ukraine, we were filming a Victory Day concert for a TV channel.

Right before we started, a lawyer burst in yelling that we had to rip the stars off the uniforms immediately - or the channel would be shut down. Many were furious, but the bosses insisted.

Stylists frantically tore them off in panic. It felt sinister and shameful.

We performed like POWs - without insignia. And the channel was closed anyway.
