Brahms Competition

Every year, more than 400 musicians from all over the world come to beautiful Pörtschach, Austria to compete in the International Johannes Brahms Competition.

12 regular prizes, 5 special prizes and the audience's prize were awarded at yesterday's gala concert at the Casineum in Velden. Congratulations to Stefan Aprodu (Romania) for winning the latter!

We are glad to announce that we will soon post an updated program for the next competition in autumn! It will take part from September 3rd to 10th.

The categories will be violin and cello, also the piano will celebrate a revival, after 3 years of absence!

Please note that in order to take part in our competition, you will have to be vaccinated or recovered from the coronavirus, the third option is to test yourself directly in Pörtschach. We will keep you updated. https://t.co/T3ELAj21qu

For this year's competition we are happy to announce, that a total of 185 participants have registered!

We continue to prepare the stages , and hope for an ongoing stable condition concerning the corona-situation, so the competition can indeed take place. We'll keep you updated!
