@RepTenney You made your bed US. You're gonna have to sleep in it. Your president is waging economic war against us. Your workers are casualties of that war. Did you really think that only Canadians would be casualties.
@SenAdamSchiff Sorry..didn't you hear. POTUS declared an economic war against us to bring about our annexation to the US. Your wine growers are casualties of that war. Did you honestly think only we would suffer? And why would we take our foot off your necks before the tarrifs are lifted?
@OrbitStudios There isn't enough oil being produced in the oil patch to fill this pipeline, and the new pipeline to the west coast, and the pipelines to the US. So I'm not worried...for now.
@allnewsisbad@jengerson Laws can change. And a province leaving the federation would require amending the constitution. The idea that millions of Albertans or Quebecers could retain their citizenship but not pay taxes to Canada is not a viable option. You can't have benefits but no obligations.
@upsetalbertan@IvisonJ But they would win more seats on Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces. Surely catering to the right wing of Cdn politics rather than the center right is one of the reasons why the CPC is in opposition.
@MoeNejad@grok@BenRabidoux We are doing what the allies should have done in 1938. Stand up to the expansionist authoritarian regime early. If the Ukrainians can't stop Russia in Ukraine then our children will have to stop them in Poland or the Baltics.
@LivinTheFringe I think a lot of conservatives are looking at Mark Carney and thinking that he looks a lot like the Progressive Conservative party that once was. Mr Pollievre, on the other hand, seems beholden a pretty ugly and extreme vision of what it means to be conservative.
@brianlilley I figure many MP's from Omtario and the Maritimes are considering their options. The further west the less likely they are to consider crossing the floor. At the end of the day alot of Canadian Conservatives are looking at the PM and thinking that he is their kind of conservative
@PaulWil80978514@brianlilley I fear it is not so much supply management in Ontario and Quebec and more the central Canadian manufacturing sector that is the issue. The US wants us to be hewers of wood and drawers of water...nothing more.
@o0CyberFreak0o@gator_gum I don't believe he was actually charged with sedition. I is an end to a sordid chapter / footnote in Canadian history. Time for these two to fade into obscurity. Drive on.
@gator_gum The negotiations are being described by government insiders as a "shakedown". No deal is better than a bad deal. Hang tough and focus on trading with the world.
@Katie___Simpson I saw the interview. It seemed to me that the ambassador has no more idea as to what motivates Trump than any of the rest of us. It's also clear that he either does not understand, or is trying to ignore, the degree to which Trump has damaged the US-Can relationship.
@acoyne Wondering how long until the mobs with pitchforks and torches make an appearance. What am I saying...this is the 21st century US we are talking about here...tiki torches and AR15's.
