Rivers APC Leadership Nullifies Primaries After Court Ruling
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State under Chief Emeka Beke has declared all activities, nominations and decisions carried out by the Tony Okocha-led faction invalid following a recent Court of Appeal judgment that affirmed Beke as the authentic chairman of the party in the state.
The development comes days after the Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt upheld an earlier judgment that recognized Beke as the lawful chairman of the Rivers APC and nullified the congresses that brought Okocha and his executive committee into office.
Reacting to the judgment, the Beke-led leadership said every action taken by the rival faction between December 20, 2024, and May 29, 2026, lacks legal backing and cannot stand.
In a statement released by the party’s spokesman, Darlington Nwauju, the leadership insisted that all political decisions, nominations, official correspondences and documents issued during the period by the Okocha faction are now invalid.
According to the statement, any representation made on behalf of the Rivers APC under the disputed leadership structure has no legal effect following the court ruling.
The declaration is expected to have far-reaching consequences for the party in Rivers State, particularly regarding candidates and political processes conducted under the Okocha-led executive.
Several governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly aspirants who emerged through exercises supervised by the faction may now face uncertainty over their political future as the legitimacy of those processes comes under fresh scrutiny.
The Beke leadership also called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC to urgently review all records connected to the disputed primaries and other decisions taken by the Okocha group.
The faction warned that failure to address the situation promptly could expose the party to legal challenges capable of affecting its electoral fortunes in future elections.
Party officials pointed to previous experiences in other states where internal disputes over candidate nominations eventually led to the loss of electoral victories through court rulings.
Beyond the issue of party primaries, the leadership further urged the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) to withdraw certificates issued to local government chairmen and councillors elected during the August 2025 local government elections conducted under the disputed structure.
If Ogoni people and their leaders want respect, they must respect themselves, embrace unity and help their brother @GBPidomson beat Wike’s governorship candidate @OKChinda.
The @officialABAT administration appears to be more focused on political calculations and future electoral ambitions than on addressing the pressing challenges affecting the lives and property of Nigerians. At a time when citizens are grappling with insecurity, economic hardship, and rising living costs, many expect the government to prioritize governance, public safety, and the welfare of the people.

POST-ADC PRIMARIES.
WHAT COMES NEXT?🇳🇬
In a recent interview with Chude, HE @ChibuikeAmaechi addressed intensifying post-primary consultations and the formidable track record that has defined his career.
The discussion offers a candid look back at an administrative style marked by decisive, hands-on action - from tackling militancy and kidnapping to building new schools in every ward and driving a historic 715MW power expansion in Rivers State.
Those believing the two liars known as O.K Chindah and Chibike Ikenga can read the ORDER of Hon. Justice Obamuno and see who they want to entrust to be the governor of Rivers State. They BLINDLY said the court did not nullify the congress that brought Tony Okocha. SEE THE ORDER IN PARAGRAPH 1.
Magnus Ngei Abe should be ashamed of himself for referring to Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a "conman." You are the conman, those after whom you name your children how you later treated such persons speak volumes about your character.
This is the same Amaechi who did everything within his power to support your political career and helped facilitate your emergence as a Senator in the National Assembly. This is the same Amaechi who gave the Ogoni people the opportunity of producing Deputy Governors under the APC and also supported an Ogoni governorship candidate under the ADC.
Ironically, the same Nyesom Wike whom you openly support today was one of the key figures who deployed enormous political resources to frustrate your governorship ambition and prevent your appointment as a minister.
History should not be forgotten for the sake of temporary political convenience.
Magnus Ngei Abe, your envy and shallow mind have beclouded your judgment, whether you like it or not, just as Dr. Gabriel Baritulem Pidomson became SSG before you, so, by the grace of God, he may well become the first Ogoni man to emerge as Governor of Rivers State before you.
Political disagreements are normal, but they should not erase the contributions and sacrifices of those who once stood by you.
